Daughter for Hire provides non-medical in-home respite services that assist the elderly, give their families peace of mind, and make it possible for seniors to age in place enjoying their golden years.
Whether it’s laundry, meal preparation, light housekeeping or assistance with medical appointments, our bonded and insured care companions are there to help your loved one experience the best in senior living.
You can find us serving families throughout the Saratoga Region, and our offices are open for scheduling, questions about our service and our care companions, and to provide information on how we can help your loved ones.

A heart for seniors
Meet Laurie Abele, wife, mother, and and owner of Daughter for Hire Saratoga. Laurie has a deep seated passion and commitment for helping others.
As a former elementary school teacher, Laurie nurtured young minds with dedication and care teaching second and fourth graders. When school was out during the summertime, she expanded her nurturing spirit into the realm of caregiving, working with seniors to help them maintain their independence and thrive in their own homes.
This experience marked a special point in her journey showing her that this work was truly rewarding.
In caring for her grandmother, Laurie well knows that this type of support is something that every community needs, and in 2024 she decided to open Daughter for Hire Saratoga.
Daughter for Hire’s goal is to offer peace of mind to families by delivering personalized, attentive care that allows loved ones to remain comfortably at home while supporting families with much needed respite.
Laurie lives right in the community of Saratoga with her husband and two children.

Each client relationship is unique, as is every individual.
Our core criteria for hiring our care companions is honesty, integrity, patience, caring nature, compassion and a pleasing personality. Our focus has been to build a team that represents the kind of people that you’d like to have in your own home. Our specially trained care companions have experience in working with clients who have dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. We understand the impact on the individual and those close to him or her, and work closely with those involved to provide respite and assistance.
For the security and the peace of mind of our clients, all care companions are bonded and insured. We carefully screen our employees through the interviewing process, reference checks and a national criminal background check.
